Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, always have a nagging feeling that youve done something wrong? Most of us feel overwhelmed when we bottle up our problems. I am a firm believer that we are all just humans doing the best we can with the tools we have.
Sometimes we just need some help figuring out how we want to navigate our next steps and what we need to do to reach our goals. Im a non-judgemental, unbiased professional who can help you to do this.
About me and my practice
I am a BACP accredited counsellor with experience working in the NHS, for a national charity and in Private Practice. I offer both short and long term work, online or over the phone. I find working online or over the phone helps me to keep my costs down and therefore my fees. It also means that you can access counselling from your own home in a place where you feel safe and comfortable and you do not have to factor in the time and costs of travel.
I work in a humanistic way which means that I believe you are the expert on yourself and I will allow you to explore whatever you feel is right for you.
I know that reaching out for help can be very daunting; you may have never done this before, don't know what exactly you want or need, feel that your problems are not important enough or know what to expect. For this reason I offer a free initial 'chat' on the phone so that you can get to know me a bit better, decide if you feel comfortable to work with me and give you an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have.
Experience
I have experience working for the NHS, a local Children's Centre (with parents), in my own Private Practice supporting adults both long and short term and with a charity supporting people in the construction industry.
I worked for several years in schools as a Teaching assistant and SENCO and have supported parents of children with special educational needs.
I have a special interest counselling clients with neurodiversity or communication difficulties and those struggling to maintain relationships.
I also have personal experience as a single parent and caring for a family member with a brain injury.
